Aftercare Instructions: Microneedling with PRF
Congratulations on investing in your skin’s health! Microneedling with PRF uses your own growth factors to boost collagen and restore glow. Here’s how to care for your skin over the next few days:
Immediately After Treatment
• Expect redness, swelling, and a sunburn-like sensation. This is normal and usually improves within 24–48 hours.
• Your skin may feel tight, dry, or slightly rough to the touch.
• Do not touch or rub your face for the rest of the day.
First 24 Hours
• Do not wash your face, apply makeup, or use any skincare products. Let the PRF fully absorb.
• Avoid workouts, sweating, swimming, saunas, or hot showers.
• Sleep on a clean pillowcase and avoid pets touching your face.
24–72 Hours (Days 1–3)
• Wash gently with a mild cleanser (think: CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, Vanicream).
• Moisturize with a bland, fragrance-free hydrator (CeraVe, Aquaphor, Vanicream).
• Always apply mineral sunscreen (zinc or titanium-based) when going outside.
• Avoid makeup for at least 48 hours; if needed, use clean brushes/sponges.
• Do not use retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or other active products.
Days 3–7
• Redness should continue to fade. Mild flaking can occur. Don’t pick!
• Continue with gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen only.
• Still no harsh scrubs, exfoliation, or chemical peels.
1 Week and Beyond
• Resume your regular skincare routine once your skin feels back to normal.
• Keep up daily sunscreen—this is when your skin is making new collagen and it’s extra important to protect it.
• Results build over time. Most people benefit from a series of treatments for best results.
Call Us If:
• You notice unusual swelling, pus, fever, or spreading rash.
• You have questions or concerns about healing.
Remember: The beauty of PRF is that it’s 100% your own. Be patient—collagen takes weeks to form, and results will continue to improve over the next few months.
