How to Prepare for Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Before your appointment

1. One week before – Avoid blood-thinning supplements/medications if possible (fish oil, aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, ginkgo). Check with your prescribing doctor first.

2. Two days before – Limit alcohol, green tea, and salty foods to reduce risk of bruising and swelling.

3. Day of your appointment – Arrive with clean skin (no makeup or heavy skincare). Eat a light meal to avoid lightheadedness.

During the appointment

We’ll start with a consultation to review your goals and facial anatomy.

Numbing cream is applied for comfort.

Injections are done with fine needles or cannulas to restore volume, soften lines, and rejuvenate your appearance.

The treatment usually takes 30–60 minutes.

Aftercare

1. Expect some swelling, redness, or bruising — this is normal and usually improves within a few days.

2. Apply cold compresses gently in the first 24 hours.

3. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, or heat (saunas, hot yoga) for 24–48 hours.

4. Skip facials, dental work, vaccines or massages for 2 weeks.

5. Do not press or massage the treated area unless instructed.

6. Makeup is ok to apply the next day.

7. Full results are seen once swelling resolves — usually within 2 weeks.
